The Funcom initially had planned to have paid character transfers to all servers. But after they took a closer look and also listened to feedback from players regarding some servers and their need to get more players to ensure better AoC power leveling and a livelier community. So they decided to first give players the possibility for a limited amount of time to transfer characters to a choice of four servers for FREE.
Free character transfers are possible to the following servers:
* Aries (German PvP)
* Ferox (French PvP)
* Zingara (Spanish PvE)
* Indomitus (Spanish PvP)
Players can access this free option over the account page at http://register.ageofconan.com . Players are limited to moving each character only once for free, so choose the new home of your characters wisely. Character transfers take 30 minutes to be processed and players must stop the age of conan power leveling and log out completely while their character is being transferred.
The PAID character transfer option will launch shortly after this free transfer offer to the above mentioned servers ends and it will allow transfer from any server to any other with the exception of the two servers Crom (EU English PvE) and Fury (EU English PvP) which already have a very large population. But this restriction might be looked at again when they see how the character transfers are going and they might also reconsider allowing transfer to those two servers a little further down the road.
Apparently the disparities between server populations in the wake of previous wave of transfers are still quite huge. Some servers, notably in EU realms, are overpopulated, while others become deserted by the day. At the moment, Tarib (CM at the Official EU Forums) only announced Free EU account transfers, to ease the burden on major servers and boost numbers on regional servers in Germany, Spain and France. While this is of little concern for US players at the moment, chances are Funcom will open the similar option for US realms should need arise. Paid transfers are also mentioned, with a hint as to timeframe of their availability.
